MSRC Scholars
In fall 2022, the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center launched its MSRC Scholars Program. The Program brought 11 outstanding Howard University undergraduate and graduate students into the center for a year-long paid internship. The students are trained to support the work of the Centers historic Library, University Archives, and Manuscript Divisions, where they are immersed in the rich history of Howard University specifically and the global Black experience more broadly.
In a short period, our interns have grown to cherish their experience and to value MSRCs place at the heart of researching and writing African and African Diasporic histories. Most importantly, the MSRC Scholars Program cultivates a strong community of lifelong learners with a passion for preserving Black history.
