
Prints & Photographs Department
The Prints and Photographs Department holds more than 200,000 graphic images, including photographs, slides, postcards, broadsides, prints, negatives, and maps. These items date from the mid-1600s to the present and feature many unique items such as illustrated newspapers, drawings, sketches, daguerreotypes, tintypes, stereograph cards, and glass plate negatives.
The university will be closed for winter break from Wednesday, December 17, through Thursday, December 1, 2026. Invoices that have been issued will be processed to completion by COB Friday, December 12, provided payment arrangements have been scheduled.
Requests where invoices have not been issued will receive follow-up in the New Year. Requests received after December 1 will be reviewed and processed to completion in the New Year.
